Beetle is a linear typeface developed with the idea of simplicity and compactness. Inspired by the simple and small structure of a basic insect, Beetle is a product characterized by simple forms, mainly associated with a sans serif style, but with secondary elements that make the typeface unique and recognizable. The typeface was developed by hand and then brought into graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. It was later re-modeled and exported through the font creation program Fontlab. The Beetle project is a personal experiment with modular typefaces, created with the goal of building a font from scratch that could be optimally used for both medium and large blocks of text. For this reason, the typeface is still in progress, with only part of the necessary glyphs completed to achieve a usable font for every language. Currently, Beetle includes all glyphs for the Latin alphabet, both uppercase and lowercase, as well as numbers and main punctuation marks. To make it more comprehensible and showcase its capabilities, I also developed the identity of a creative studio that uses the typeface within its brand identity.
